In other, other news, and the best of all, darkhavens is coming to stay next week. I have visions of us sitting in the same room in complete silence, her devouring teh Wincest, me the J2, especially of the weather is too rubbish to venture out much. First on the agenda is lunch with suki_blue, though. Can't wait!!

What's to do, what's to do? These damn Russian bots keep friending me, I keep reporting them to the LJ Abuse team, and they keep on, and on and on. They haven't found Dreamwidth yet, but I'm waiting... LJ needs to do something about it, and quickly. Their lack of action is not helping, and irritating those of us who consider LJ our first journal. I just don't know what the bots are aiming for and don't want them spamming me.

Completely apart from that, I think we should have a National Lurkers' Day. I invite you all to say Hi! Hello! I scroll past your posts because I'm too shy to comment but it's a good day! Something along those lines?

It's a funny old thing. Many of my flist have moved away from my interests, or vice versa. Staying friends isn't a bad thing, and, who knows, maybe one day our interests will converge again!

I'm a doctor, man, not a movie reviewer!

I've just seen the new Star Trek movie and, sorry to be predictable, but it really is made of win. JJ Abrams, the director, is a fan of the Classic series, and it shows in every nod to every fanboy and girl. I actually had a tear in my eye when Spock Prime turned up. Yes, I know; a bit tragic. ;) My only tiny niggle would be that some of the action scenes went on a bit long.

Hardcore Trekkers may decry the changing of some, um, things (being careful to avoid spoilers here) but the franchise was tired, the actors too set in their ways to shake things up, and it was on its last legs, imo.

After the tragedy of Enterprise - what were they thinking?! - this was a refreshing change. The casting was impeccable, the actors didn't do impressions of the originals but were instantly identifiable and I can't wait for the sequel! Huge props to Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and every other actor involved. Anton Yelchin doesn't look anything like Walter Koenig, but his Chekhov voice was perfection!

Okay, here's the thing. I like the dragons. I know not everyone does, and I respect that, but I do. I didn't see a dragon comm on Dreamwidth so I lost it, and created one. The head and desk are now very good friends.

Point is, if you have a DW account (or if you don't but are happy to post anyway) feel free to join here. All pets welcome, no cut needed for the dragons, and those sprites can always use another view. *g*

Well, guys, I'm off to see James and Gareth at the Drill Hall in London with suki_blue today. Is it bad of me that I'm looking forward to seeing friends not bumped into for an age almost more than seeing the boyz? *g*

After all the Dreamwidthy excitement of yesterday, it'll be a rest!

Have a lovely, lovely weekend, and I'll see you all Sunday evening/Monday morning, depending on how knackered I am. Try to do things I wouldn't do. I'm terribly dull. *smooch*
